Hiatus

For the moment my blogs are on hold. I am having some issues with Google Adsense.
they have suspended my ads for an unknown reason. They said I would receive an email outlining the problem but nothing so far and it's nearly a week now. Also I sent a message and no response.
I am unhappy with this state of affairs and I have had other problems with Blogger as well, concerning posting of pictures and editing text and layout.
So at the moment I am looking for another place to do my blogging. I will post on here when it happens and I will send emails to those that I have addresses for.
Thanks to those who have been readers. I have enjoyed blogging very much and will continue soon.

Lieberman, McKinney Lose Dem Primary Races

Liberman says he will run as "Independent Democrat."
He says he will continue in race for "The Cause."

McKinney's bizarre behavior catches up

As widely predicted incumbent Connetticut Senator Joe Lieberman was trounced in the Democratic primary by the wealthy upstart, political newcomer Ned Lamont.
Lieberman quickly announced he would use his considerable campaign funds, accumulated after years in the U.S. Senate, to run as an "Independent Democrat."
Lieberman said he must go on for "the cause." Exactly what cause this is he didn't say.
Probably 'cause he doesn't want to leave the Senate!
In Georgia U.S. Reprsentative Cynthia McKinney paid the price for her oft recurring bizarre behavior.
She said all the attention on her run in with the U.S. Capitol police was "Much ado about hairdo!" Posted by Picasa

Rich Are Getting Richer, Poor Are Getting Poorer, Much Faster Under G.W.!

Recently the Bush administration was patting itself on the back as the figures from the last economic quarter showed a modest decrease in deficit spending. "Tax cuts worked to generate economic growth, and economic growth is now working to raise revenues," White House budget director Rob Portman said. They did everything but stand on their heads singing "Happy Days Are Here Again!" Recalling the message that got Bill Clinton elected, "It's the economy, Stupid!" Bushies who had previously been very uncomfortable with economic comparisons to the previous administration were now ecstatic. But hold on! There is a fly in the ointment and it doesn't bode well for the Republicans and it is a grim omen for most working people. While there was modest growth of tax revenue the national economy is not growing. What has changed is the distribution of wealth. The rich are geting richer and the poor are getting poorer! Nothing new new there you say? True, but it is now going on at a more dissproportionate rate and such an accelerated pace that the gap between the higher incomes and the middle and lowest incomes is now the highest in the history of the country. Once considered the foundation of the economy, the middle class is slowly eroding and the United States is sliding towards becoming a third world economy.

Al Gore's Film Under Attack!

Al Gore's movie about the dangers of global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth," is under attack in a recent video posted on YouTube on the internet.
It seems that this video may have been produced by big oil! What a surprise!!!

The Wall Street Journal reported that the film was produced by a Republican public relations firm by the name of DCI, which has Exxon as a client. Exxon denies any connection with the film, and DCI says, "We do not disclose the names of our clients, nor do we discuss the work we do on behalf of our clients." Now some are calling for the disclosure of who paid for the film. "Without the disclosure, it's really ethically questionable," said Diane Farsetta, a senior researcher at the Center for Media and Democracy. Posted by Picasa

Beach Goers In Danger From Polluted Water

The Natural Resources Defense Council filed a lawsuit on Thursday, August 3, in a U.S. District Court claiming that the Environmental Protection Agency has failed in its duty to protect the public against the "substantial adverse health effects" from contact with contaminated beach-water. A law pased by Congress in 2000 requires the EPA to update its beach-water health standards by 2005. The agency missed the deadline and current standards are two decades old, according to court documents. That same day the group issued a report that found beach closings due to hazardous bacterial contamination in Los Angeles County jumped 50 percent in 2005. Across the nation 20,000 beaches were closed or had posted health advisories. EPA spokesman Dale Kemery did not address the lawsuit, but said in a statement "the state of the nation's beach health remains high, even as the number of beaches monitored increased by 11 percent in 2005." The agency "has made significant progress in carrying out its responsibilities under the" 2000 law, he said. The lawsuit asks the court to order the agency to complete the water-quality studies and publish revised safety rules. Many sources were listed for the cause of this pollution including animal waste, factories, septic tanks, sewage, pesticides and oil and metals deposited on city streets. City storm drains send their runoff directly into bodies of water all across the country.
