'Rogue' Icebergs On The Loose!

The word 'rogue' has been in the news a lot lately as Sarah Palin has launched her media blitz to sell her book and lay groundwork for the future.
Interestingly it has now leaked into the "lame stream news," as she call it.
Check out the excerpt below from a story in today's news.

Rogue Icebergs Head for New ZealandBy RAY LILLEY, AP
New Zealand (Nov. 25) -- Ships are on alert and maritime authorities are monitoring the movements of hundreds of menacing icebergs drifting toward New Zealand in the southern Pacific Ocean, officials said.

Sarah Palin is flying high on her book tour as she lays groundwork for a possible run for the Presidency in 2012.
It's funny that some of the so-called populist revolt she has helped spark came back to bite her the other day when she left suddenly on her book tour bus after over 300 angry book buyers stood outside the bus angrily shouting "sign my book!" They had been promised she would sign but became incensed when she abruptly cut the book signing short.

Sarah Palin Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin's book is now on the shelves. Does anyone believe she actually wrote this? As for it being a number one best seller it is pretty certain her various PAC's and supporters are buying books in bulk to boost her numbers and speaking fees.
Does anyone remember former Speaker of the House Jim Wright? Newt Gingrich led the attack on Speaker Wright for buying large numbers of his own book and his distribution of them to supporters for much the same reasons. Wright was forced to vacate the Speaker's chair and not long after he ended his long career as a Representative from Fort Worth, Texas.
During the last Presidential campaign the operative word for Palin was "Maverick!" Remember she said John McCain was the biggest Maverick in Congress and she was a Maverick in Alaska and she was always feeling all "Maverickey."
Well now she is going "rogue." The first time I heard the term 'rogue' was in reference to a wild elephant that had gone mad and was attacking villagers. Seems appropriate somehow.
Here is the definition of rogue;

Let's Not Forget Why We Are Where We Are Today!

Click on pics for larger image:

It is important to look back at the past administration and just remember why we are where we are today. Someone said if you don't remember the lessons of history you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes, or something like that.
President Obama has been under a vicious and nasty attack even before he was inaugurated. Now many who supported him are seen to be drifting away and even very critical.
Many on the left are disappointed that he has not transformed America into a politically progressive left ideal of government. On the other side they accuse him of being a socialist/fascist/Nazi/communist enemy of old people dedicated to destroying America. Puhleeze people! Let's get some intelligence and logic into the public discourse.
Obama has made many mistakes but he has been a tireless President working on many issues and he needs public support to be successful in passing health care reform.
Contrary to the GOP drumbeat, universal, or at least near universal, health care will be good for the economy in the long run. That is not a difficult equation to understand.

Tea Bagger Logic

Click on pic for larger image

This 'toon is of a lady I saw being interviewed at the so called tea-bagger protest in Washington recently.
This lady was so angry, contemptuous and clueless!
She, and many others, invoked the constitution, incorrectly, I might add, and regurgitated talking points from people like Dick Armey, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.
Their attitudes seem selfish, racist, arrogant and most certainly un-Christian, which they also claim to be.
They are nothing like the participants in the original tea party, that is the Boston Tea Party, which preceded the American Revolution. Those folks were protesting the tea tax imposed upon the colonies by Great Britain. Their cry was "No taxation without representation." These modern day tea baggers are against taxation with representation!
