Does America still believe in these words by Emma Lazarus inscribed on The Statue of Liberty?
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, with conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand a mighty woman with a torch, whose flame is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command the air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame, "Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Presidential elections need to be shorter and a few other changes are in order
In a Presidential election year the primaries should begin in March. The first primary would be held simultaneously in the Eastern tier of states, then another for the Mid-west and the final one for the Western states. American holdings such as Guam or Puerto Rico would join in the appropriate tally. This could take place through July and the party conventions would be in August. The actual election period would begin right after Labor Day, which was once considered the start of the electoral season. There should be no PACs. There should be campaign limits on donations and expenditures. The Electoral College should be eliminated. And we need to work on re-districting of electoral districts and Congressional seats! Whew! Let's get started.
