President Bush Said To OK Release Of Classified Information

According to court documents released yesterday I. Lewis (Scooter) Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the leak that disclosed the identity of C.I.A. agent Valerie Plame that Vice President Cheney provided the information and that the disclosure was authorized by President Bush. But the disclosure in documents filed Wednesday means that the president and the vice president put Libby in posession of classified information about prewar intelligence on Iraq so he could then pass it on to reporters.
