Worse Than Nixon...

John Dean Compares G.W. Bush To His Old Boss

Posted by PicasaFormer Nixon White House counselor John Dean had a warning for the Senate Judidciary Committee in his recent testimony to that panel. "Had the Senate or House, or both, censured or somehow warned Richard Nixon, the tragedy of Watergate might have been prevented."
Dean told the Senators that President Bush's domestic spying was worse than the actions that led to Nixon's resignation amid the Watergate scandal.
"Hopefully the Senate will not sit by while even more serious abuses unfold before it."
Referring to the resolution proposed by Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Russell Feingold to censure President Bush, Dean said the president "...Needs to be told he cannot simply ignore a law with no consequences."
Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said Feingold's resolution has no merit, "but it provides a forum for the discussion of issues which really ought to be considered in greater depth than they have been."

BY the way, Dicky, you can have permanent links on the right hand side of your blog if you want, instead of adding them to each entry. Let me know if you want to do this and I'll help.
