Advertising In Space

A number of years ago a few companies explored the idea of placing giant, illuminated bill boards in low space orbit. These structures were to be made of mylar and other materials and several different technologies were considered.
Fortunately Congress passed legislation, authored by Ed Markey, (D, Massachusetts) and stopped the projects.
Can you imagine how obnoxious such a thing would be? It is beyond words!!
