Kansas Congresswoman Says GOP Needs "Great White Hope!"

Yet another Republican has made a stupid, offensive remark concerning President Barack Obama. Speaking at a town hall meeting August 19, Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-Kan.) said that the GOP needs "a great white hope" to challenge the Democratic agenda.
"Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope," she told the crowd. "I suggest to any of you who are concerned about that, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington."
This is just more evidence that a strong current of out right racism is driving much of the ugly rhetoric and anger being displayed by many of the Republican protestors.
