Idaho Republican Suggests Hunters Get Obama Tags!
Rex Rammell, a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor in Idaho in the 2010 primary, is the latest Republican to make stupid and alarming remarks concerning President Obama.
Speaking at a Republican rally on August 27, in Twin Falls, Rammell brought up the $11.50 wolf tags for hunters which enables them to shoot a wolf in the upcoming hunting season.
Someone in the audience shouted out “What about Obama tags?” Rammell replied "The Obama tags? We'd buy some of those."
Of course there was protest from Idaho Democrats who questioned the propriety of such a remark. The head of the Idaho Democratic party said Rammell should apologize.
Rammell said he had no reason to apologize. Rammel says it was just a joke.
"What I would say to all my Democrat Idahoans: Take a deep
breath and relax," he said. "We're not going to go out and hunt Obama."
"I would never support him being assassinated."
Now isn’t that comforting?
The FBI has been asked to look into this as a possible threat to the life of the President.
Imagine if someone had carried anti G.W. Bush signs along with a loaded AR15 to one of his speaking events. Would he have been ignored by the secret service and other law enforcement? This has occurred at least once at Obama healthcare rallies. Now this crass, inappropriate remark and the right wing thinks this is OK?
This is just another sign, as if it was needed, that the Republican Party has been taken over by far right fringe groups.
