Arlen Specter Switches Parties!

Today came the news that Senator Arlen Specter, senior senator from Pennsylvania,had switched parties as he said goodbye to the Republicans and became a Democrat.
That's good news for those who see the shrinking Republican Party as becoming more and more the party of divisiveness and the far right.
Specter has long been more of an independent, more of a true "maverick!" Goodness knows that word has been destroyed in the last election!
The GOP spin was in full force today. Ed Rollins sounded a bit pissed on CNN this morning. He said Specter was never really much of a Republican anyway and the Dems were welcome to him!
