Republicans Feign "Outrage!"

Recently the Congressional Republicans have been pretending to be "shocked" as they claim Democrats have engaged in back room deals and considerations to certain lawmakers to buy their votes on health care and other issues. What a bunch of baloney! Senator John McCain was dismayed when Al Franken cut off Joe Lieberman from making extended remarks. He said he had never seen such a thing. Well, last night's Rachel Maddow Show provided clips from C Span from a legislative session several years ago when Senator McCain did the exact same thing.
Cutting backroom deals has always been part of the legislative process. Remember the admonition about two things one should never witness, the making of sausage and the making of laws.
