Fred Thompson; South Carolina his Waterloo?

Former Senator Fred Thompson was asked if South Carolina was going to be like Custer's Last Stand for him. He replied "Custer didn't fare too well. I think it will be more like my Waterloo." He looked a bit puzzled and then added "I mean like Wellington's Waterloo." Hmmm ...maybe Richard Nixon was right about Fred Thompson when he said, as revealed on the Watergate tapes, "That Fred Thompson, he's dumb as hell!"
