Michele Bachmann is not going to let Pat Robertson be the only one to claim the recent earthquake and hurricane in the east is retribution from an unhappy God, who also opposes deficit spending!
On Sunday she told the audience at a Shriner's temple in Sarasota, Florida that was God's message with the two disasters.
From the St. Petersburg Times:
I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here?' Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we've got to rein in the spending.

After the inevitable skeptical questions from the meanies in the press Bachmann tried to pass off her comments as "..a joke!"
