Joe Lieberman Must Hate American Values

Senator Joseph Lieberman has a proposal that would do more damage to American values than the terrorists could ever hope to do.

Lieberman has proposed that any American charged with terrorism should be stripped of his U.S. citizenship by the State Department. He ignores the requirements of the constitution providing for the rights of the accused and of the due process of law.

Much like the so-called 'Patriot Act' of the Bush administration, the torture of terror suspects, holding suspects for years with no trials or hearings and the practice of rendition this proposal goes against the grain of what it is to be American.

Do we let our fear of terrorism turn us into the kind of country which no longer believes in its own stated principles of law and government?
