Sarah The Marxist!

Sarah Palin and John McCain have been trying to smear Senator Barack Obama as a socialist or a Marxist because of a comment, taken completely out of context, to the fellow now widely known as Joe the Plumber. This tactic of the McCain Palin campaign is such a dishonest, distortion it defies belief!
"Senator Obama is running to be "re-distibutor of wealth in chief." I am running to be commander in chief!" McCain bellows.

Of course this is a lie and McCain and Palin both know it but honor and honesty has long been absent in their nasty, dirty campaign.
Well, Palin isn't smart enough to realize that her own words might come back to haunt her.
For example, as Governor of Alaska she oversaw the Oil Windfall Profits Tax which allows Alaskans to share in the
wealth created by the oil companies which extract Alaska's mineral wealth. Last month, in an interview with Philip Gourevitch of the New Yorker, Palin said that the windfall profits on the oil industry in Alaska is a way for Alaskans to “share in the wealth.” Below is an excerpt form that interview:

And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. … It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans.

Hmmm...sounds like a form of, gasp, socialism! Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share (ACES) program will pay every Alaskan $3,200 this year, their share of the bonanza of tax dollars the oil and gas companies pay the state. That money also frees Alaskans from paying state income or sales tax.
All Obama is talking about is making the tax code a bit more equitable and would pose no burden to wealthy individuals or businesses because the amount of increase would likely only be around 3%!
